NI Accident Management: Delivering Social Value in the Ballymena Area
At NI Accident Management, our mission has always been to help people get back on the road after life’s unexpected bumps. But we believe our responsibility goes beyond vehicles and claims. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, we’re passionate about building stronger, more connected communities. That’s why, earlier this year, we proudly donated a car to the Mid and East Antrim Agewell Partnership (MEAAP). This donation wasn’t just about NI Accident Management handing over keys—it was about giving older people in the Ballymena, Larne, and Carrickfergus areas better access to essential services, reducing isolation, and creating genuine social value.
Why We Chose to Support MEAAP
As a local NI company, we understand the challenges some of our neighbours face—particularly older residents who may struggle with transport, independence, or feeling connected to their community. Organisations like MEAAP provide a lifeline, and when we learned they needed a vehicle to extend their reach, we knew we could help.
Our donation allows the MEAAP team to travel more easily, deliver services, and meet older people right where they are. Whether it’s getting out to homes, community centres, or local events, the car has become a practical tool to make support more accessible.
Who the Mid and East Antrim Agewell Partnership Are:
The Mid and East Antrim Agewell Partnership (MEAAP) is a community-based charitable initiative focused on enhancing the health, wellbeing, and independence of older people in the Ballymena, Larne, and Carrickfergus areas in Northern Ireland. Operating as a strategic, inter-agency partnership, MEAAP delivers a wide range of vital services designed to help older adults remain safe, connected, and supported in their own homes and communities.
At the core of their work is the ‘Ageing Well’ model, for which they hold a contract with the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. Under this model, MEAAP provides services such as:
Good Morning telephone calls, offering regular check-ins that combine social contact with health advice and referrals to relevant community support.
A Handyman service to assist with small home maintenance tasks—such as decorating, path clearing, and minor repairs—to help older individuals maintain their independence.
A Home Security scheme, which includes safety checks and the installation of equipment like locks or security lighting to ensure privacy and safety at home.
Community and social engagement, including tech training to bridge digital divides—helping older people use devices and online tools—and voluntary links to support groups.
MEAAP also delivers innovative health interventions, particularly through programmes like IMPACTAgewell®, which integrate community-led care models with local GPs, pharmacists, and social services to produce wellbeing-centred, preventative care plans. This model has demonstrated significant social and financial returns by reducing emergency care needs and improving overall outcomes for older individuals.
Additionally, the ScamSavvy text alert service offers timely warnings on emerging fraud threats—helping older residents stay alert and safe—and reflects MEAAP’s responsiveness to evolving community needs.
In short, MEAAP is not only a vital service provider but also a champion of older people’s rights to live with dignity, safety, and independence in their own communities.
The Impact of Our Donation
For us, donating a car wasn’t about ticking a CSR box—it was about contributing something practical that makes a tangible difference. With the new vehicle which NI Accident Management donated, MEAAP’sdirectors Jenny and Sarah, along with their team, can reach more people in the Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne areas, expand their services, and respond more quickly to the needs of older residents.
It’s a small gesture compared to the incredible work MEAAP delivers every day, but one that highlights the power of partnership between local businesses and charities. Together, we can drive change—literally and figuratively—by pooling resources, sharing expertise, and standing alongside organisations that tackle some of our community’s biggest challenges.
CSR in Action: Social Value Beyond the Road
At NI Accident Management, we see CSR not as an add-on but as an essential part of how we do business. By supporting organisations like MEAAP, we are investing in the wellbeing of the Ballymena area and creating social value beyond the road.
For us, this means:
Helping older people feel less isolated.
Supporting health and independence in the community.
Strengthening local partnerships that have long-lasting impact.
The car donation is just one of many ways we are working to embed CSR into our company culture. From fundraising at Christmas to partnerships with community organisations, we are committed to building a stronger and hopefully kinder Northern Ireland.
Looking Forward for NI Accident Management: Ballymena and Beyond…
This donation from NI Accident Management marks an exciting step in our ongoing journey to deliver social value in Ballymena and beyond. We are inspired by the work of MEAAP and grateful to play even a small part in helping them expand their services.
As a company, we will continue to look for opportunities to give back, not just through financial support, but by using our resources, connections, and platform to amplify the work of organisations that matter.
Because at the end of the day, our roads are about more than vehicles—they’re about people, connections, and communities. And when we work together, we can create a future where everyone feels supported, valued, and included.
